IMG_2219Well, I don’t know anything about it. But one of the first non-physics bloggers I started reading turned out to be the son of the outgoing president of Nigeria. He almost never makes comments about what is going on at home in his blog — he sticks strictly to technical issues (XML, recently social computing, etc.). He works at Microsoft. Apparently he once made a comment on what was going on back in Nigeria and home newspapers picked it up. But as his father gets closer to leaving the presidency he has gotten a bit more brave.

In particular, he just posted a stunning photo essay of his last trip home — he was there during the presidential elections (blog posting reference). I found it fascinating! My knowledge of Africa and Nigeria is formed almost completely by what I read in the American papers. Whatever you might think of what is going on in Nigeria, I urge you to look at Dare’s pictures. Some of them are quite stunning.
