Last Chance December 8, 2006Posted by gordonwatts in physics.
This afternoon the results are due to be released. Some people have been working on this for 12 years. Me: only 2 years. But still. The collaboration has had a good look at the analysis and gave us a long list of questions. We have answered all the questions (we think) but our review rules give them another chance. We are in the middle of the collaboration meeting, and I’m sitting in Fermilab’s 1 West room right now — full of people (even at this hour). In a short while Aran will stand up and everyone will shoot at him. If he survives, there is a meeting in 10:30 to give final approval. If he doesn’t, the scheduled Wine And Cheese talk this afternoon is going to be very boring!
