End Of Quarter Traveling December 8, 2006Posted by gordonwatts in life, travel.
Last day of classes is tomorrow. Which means several things. My days of not teaching are drawing to a close. It has been fun, and allowed me to arrive at work at all hours helping, I hope, Paula out with the kid more than I might have if I’d had the regularly scheduled course. And Christmas travel is upon me. I’m on a plane to Chicago for the party to release our results now, and then on Saturday I’m off to Europe for a week long visit at CERN (with a task list that will take me about 5 weeks to complete), and then back to Chicago and finally to New Jersey and Ottawa to celebrate Christmas.
I’ve been going flat out for the last two months helping to complete the single top analysis and ready it for release tomorrow. It has been exhausting. I think I’ve pulled more all nighters over the past several weeks than at any other time in my career. My mother recently sent me a mail message: “what do you want for Christmas?” I’d not even given it a thought. And I still have to buy for everyone else! Yikes! Thank goodness for the Internet!
