Snow! November 28, 2006

Posted by gordonwatts in life.

It is snowing here in Seattle! The city is shut down. There are no cabs to be had anywhere. I arrived back from Chicago and had to wait for almost 2 hours for a cab. I shared the cab ride with a booker from the Crock, an EPA engine inspector and consultant, and a business consultant (who lives in the W hotel!?). Apparently driving up the city hills is something people no longer do. What a mess!

It snowed less than 1/4 inch in most places… It doesn’t take much out here. 🙂

And while I was gone Julia seems to have learned how to roll over. Unfortunately, she is still learning how to roll back, and she hates being stuck on her stomach.

Watching Seattlites in snow is really amusing. What I want is enough snow for me to ski from the top of Queen Anne to the Fremont bridge!

A lot of what happens to you in snow / ice depends on what car you drive. My old front wheel drive Celica regularly took me up to Snoqualmie pass to go snow boarding, no problem. But my light weight rear wheel drive Miata skids badly in light rain, and does terrifying 360s even at low speed on ice.
