You Suck, Sears! April 15, 2006Posted by gordonwatts in life.
Our washing machine broke a week ago. We didn't have a lot of time so we though we'd use Sears to fix the thing. The have a nice web sign up tool which is pretty easy to schedule a visit. Today, between 1 and 5pm. They even called last night to make sure they remembered.
Paula had to come home early from UW — getting someone else to take over the last half of her class. By 4:30 they said they would be there between 5:30 and 6. Arrived at about 6:20pm or so. By then the parking was close to impossible (as it is bound to get around our place that time of night). Their first phone call was "can't find parking. We need to reschedule." To their credit, they did try for another 20 minutes to find parking. But were not able to find any. Dispatch called a few minutes after saying "couldn't find parking, so there was no way to get to you. Can we reschedule?" Well, duh. Had you been there closer to when you said you would be there wouldn't have been a problem.
Ok. I'm feeling a little more calm now that I've vented a little bit. Another week without a washing machine. And one of us will have to take another afternoon off work in order to meet the repair person.
I really don't like being a grown-up!
