Traffic From Hell April 8, 2006Posted by gordonwatts in life.
Seattle is famous for bad traffic. Paula and I have managed to arrange work and home in such a way we can avoid it. It rarely takes us more than 15 minutes to drive. Biking is about 25 minutes. Something happened the other evening. Other than a shelf cloud that roarded through downtown we have no idea what caused it, but Stewart street was a mess. We sat there for over 45 minutes; usually it is only 5 minutes in rush hour. At one point people were backing out of intersections and trying to take side roads to avoid Stewart.
There are a bunch of parking garages along the side of Stewart street. The cars attempting to exit were as suck as the rest of us on the street. These being buisness buildings and this being rush hour, I wonder how far underground this line went? Ugh.
